Giving Animals a Second Chance — One Life at a Time

Founded in 1976, PAWS Ohio is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill organization that has become one of Ohio’s most trusted and longstanding animal rescue groups. For nearly five decades, the organization has been dedicated to rescuing, fostering, and adopting out cats and dogs throughout Northeast Ohio — giving countless animals a new beginning.

Every animal rescued by PAWS Ohio has a story — often one of neglect, abandonment, or abuse. The organization provides critical care and compassion, covering expenses for medical treatment, spay/neuter surgeries, food, litter, and transportation. Their work is made possible solely through donations, volunteers, and the support of compassionate individuals and businesses.

PAWS Ohio is more than a rescue — it’s a driving force for change. The organization was instrumental in spearheading Ohio House Bill 60 and Senate Bill 164, securing landmark victories in the protection of companion animals and making history in Ohio animal welfare legislation.

But the need continues to grow. Every day, more animals require rescue, more medical bills pile up, and more voices are needed to speak up for the voiceless.

PAWS Ohio invites the community to join them — by donating, fostering, volunteering, or simply spreading the word. Together, every act of kindness adds up to a life saved.
